And it doesn’t really matter which camp you find yourself in because either way, this article has information that will be relevant and timely for you and your business.

The HubSpot Academy is one of the most robust and easy-to-use learning centers I have ever had the pleasure of learning from.
If it were not for the HubSpot Academy, I would not be where I am today. Becoming a “thought leader” and really good at what I do happened one video, one podcast, one article, one certification at a time.
Going from a high school dropout that worked at a Web Dev agency, to now being a HubSpot accredited trainer at The Sales Lion and speaking all over the world, can be directly tied to the amount of education and number of certifications I have received from the Academy.
I simply focused on learning what would impact the business and myself the most.
I educated myself and then executed on the learnings.

So, What is HubSpot Academy?
HubSpot Academy is a group of people who love to educate people on inbound marketing, sales, and the tools to do both. This group is lead by Mark Kilens and is made up of several HubSpot Professors.
The Academy team does a really good job on explaining what/who the HubSpot Academy is. They even have a great video that helps tell the story.

Well, let’s address the huge elephant in the room.
Do you have to use the HubSpot Marketing or Sales software to get value out of HubSpot Academy?
Short answer. No, not at all.

In the rest of this article, we will cover HubSpot Academy certifications that HubSpot users and non-users should be leveraging to do better marketing and sales in their businesses.
Everyone here is trying to do better business—HubSpot user or not.
Also, we are going to cover all the places that HubSpot Academy can educate you, even beyond the certifications they offer.
In essence, we are going to teach you how to get the most benefit and therefore the best result out of using the HubSpot Academy.
HubSpot Academy: Quick Answers
Sometimes you just need a quick answer to what you are working on. Diving into an entire video or searching Google for all the answers may actually slow you down.
You can head over to the HubSpot Academy quick answer page.
I like this page because it covers topics like calls-to-action, blogs, contacts, deals, emails, and so much more.
Another really smart feature is its prominent search. The moment you hit the page your eye is drawn to a huge search bar begging to be used.
They also list out the two to three frequently asked questions per topic. If that doesn’t get you what you need, then just hit the see more questions button and boom: you are in answer nirvana.
Get your answer, pass your hurdle, and go back to getting stuff done.
HubSpot Academy: Certifications
Do I even need to write about this?
I mean almost everyone on the planet knows about this free education and brand building resource, right?
Nope! As I travel around the world teaching about content, inbound, and video marketing, I am amazed at how many people have no clue that the certification area of the Academy exists.
You will find some great information and even see a familiar face: mine.
My favorite part of this page is the “get educated, get connected, get hired” section.
As I look back, that is exactly what I have been doing since 2012 when I entered the Inbound Marketing and HubSpot culture.
The HubSpot Academy Certification Confusion
There are so many certifications in the Academy. I remember when I started there were only four of them. Then six. Then nine. Today there are fourteen possible certifications with more on the horizon.
You might be wondering, “do I have to get them all?”

To be honest, the two biggest questions I always get are:
- What HubSpot Academy Certifications do I need to get?
- Where should I start?

HubSpot Academy: User Blog
As a HubSpot user, this blog just makes sense. These articles are the “in the trench” type content that you need to do better sales and marketing work. However, many of the topics are not HubSpot specific. Take for instance:
Once you learn the 5 types of posts you need to add, you could then use any social monitoring tool you have access to. Doesn’t have to be HubSpot.

HubSpot Academy: How To Articles
Sometimes you just need to get nerdy.
HubSpot Academy has a great section on their site called User Guides. These user guides are compilations of knowledge articles.
These, have saved me more than once when working on a marketing project for The Sales Lion or our clients.

When you get stuck and need that special tool, the user guide tool box is super valuable.
Partner Academy: Broadcasts
Ever wish you could have started Inbound in 2011 or 2012 and been able to watch all the webinars that HubSpot Academy created.
Never fear, you still can. There is an entire page dedicated to these broadcasts.
Imagine if you spent one hour a day watching broadcasts on specific topics. In one year you could be incredibly well versed when it came to things like:
